Information Systems Security Officer/IT Technician - Littleton, CO


The Information Systems Security Officer /IT Technician will be responsible for assisting in providing oversight, policy, and procedure development, and related functions in compliance with RMF (JSIG), DoD 5205.07. As part of the Security Team, the position is responsible for day-to-day implementation and compliance in operating and maintaining security requirements both technical and administrative on classified systems.

The IT Technician will be responsible for assisting the IT Administrator with overall IT systems administration as well as assisting with security related duties within the Information Technology department. Tasks include maintaining the health and security of the corporate network, user support, monitoring compliance, conducting security audits and monitoring disaster recovery solutions.

  • Assist the Information Systems Security Manager with daily operations, procedures and compliance monitoring for a secure network.
  • Perform risk assessments and execute tests of data processing system to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of security standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct, support, or assist in governmental reviews, internal corporate evaluations, or assessments of the overall effectiveness of the security processes.
  • Assist with managing AD, GPO, DNS and DHCP on a corporate network.
  • Assist managing Networking/Firewalls Security IPS/IDS for corporate network.
  • Developing plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
  • Reviewing violations of computer security procedures and discuss procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated.
  • Monitors use of data files and regulate access to safeguard information in computer files.
  • Train users and promote security awareness to ensure system security and to improve server and network efficiency.
  • Analyze and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Alternate Facility Security Officer- Trained to assist with security duties as required or in the absence of the FSO. Desired COMSEC experience or Understanding of COMSEC regulations and best practices, as well as knowledge of or experience in security arena.
  • Identify, investigate, or resolve security breaches.
  • Providing desktop support to end users.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. Experience and Certifications may be substituted for education.
  • 3-5 years related experience desired.
  • Windows Server with emphasis on Active Directory, DNS and DHCP as well as Group Policy.
  • Experience with incident resolution, audit and log analysis and media and device control.
  • Proficiency with Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows Server.
  • Proficiency in the use of Windows Operating Systems, in physical and virtual environments.
  • Requires U.S. Citizenship and a Secret security clearance current within the last 4 years.
  • Possession of current DOD 8570 security related certification (Security+, Network+, CASP) with CE/CEUs. Must provide proof of certification.
  • Completion of appropriate USG-sponsored (DOD, DNI, etc.) ISSO training courses desired.
  • Knowledge of RMF (JSIG) guidelines, directives and security mandates.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidate must be able to respond to after hour alarms.
