Technical Segment Manager
James Hardie is currently seeking an experienced Segment Manager for our Technical Sales segment. As a leader within the Technical Sales segment, this individual will enable customer acquisition and maximize customer retention with builders and contractors by increasing JH alignment with installers. This person will be responsible for:
:Effective understanding of JH strategy, local game plans and strategies for all segments. Clear understanding of how installers fit into our market game plans and goals.
:Being the expert on building envelope and construction process. Employ building science and a strong technical foundation to communicate JH recommendations. Understanding installer challenges and tradeoffs and can provide detailed objection resolution and solutions.
:Understanding breadth and depth of installer business models. P and L Fundamentals and detailed breakdown of various elements of pricing and fixed/variable costs that drive small and medium size business' profitability. Can evaluate a business and assess value creation gaps and opportunities to partner with JH.
:Design and execute a learning path for new Tech Sales Rep's using multiple training approaches. Conduct high impact training sessions for various audiences.
:Effective coach for Technical Sales Reps based on critical tasks. Peer coach for Sales leaders.
:Direct feedback designed to drive action. Measures and metrics biased. Cognizant of how behaviors and attitudes contribute towards results achieved. Holds peers accountable
:Understands market plan and pushes for Tech Sales and Sales integration at all levels by addressing any misalignment, recognizing right activities/wins and providing clarity
:Effective communication in written, verbal and presentation formats up to 2 levels up
:Effective project management including scoping, prioritization, communication and execution
Qualified candidates must have the following:
*Bachelors Degree or 8 plus years of relevant experience
*5 years + in Manufacturing or Building Products and in a similar position providing Technical and Business support
*Relevant experience in B2B support, sales, consulting preferable
*Flexible for 50 travel
