The City & County of Denver - Parks & Recreation Department offers Youth Sports programming for kids, ages 3 - 17 years. However, the bulk of the programming is aimed at youth ages 5 - 14 years.
About Our Job
The City and County of Denver's Parks and Recreation Department is hiring Flag Football Assistant Coaches (On Call) for the 2018 season.
Our team of devoted Assistant Coaches enrich the lives of youth through engagement of sports, learning the fundamentals of numerous sports including Baseball, Basketball, Coach Pitch, T-Ball, Softball, Flag Football, Gymnastics, Tumbling, Cheerleading, Volleyball and Soccer.
+ Serve as a role model for youth in a sports program focused on sportsmanship, fun, skill development and character development
+ Assist with the implementation of fun & creative practice plans for youth ages 3-17 years
+ Commit to 3 hours of helping coach a week per team in season (1 practice and 1 game)
+ Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants
+ Support program rules, department policies and provide conflict resolution and behavior management when necessary
+ Obtain NYSCA Certification(Coaches Certification)
+ Attend all mandatory trainings and workshops
This is an on-call position which will work no more than 5-15 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have:
+ Knowledge of Flag Football
+ A flexible work schedule

+ Must be at least 14 years of age.
+ Requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or within six months of hire date. Licensure and certification must be kept current as a condition of employment.
About Everything Else
Classification Title: We call this job an Assistant Coach - Youth Sports (On Call). The official job classification is Recreation Assistant.
Hiring Rate: $10.20 per Hour
Assessments / Testing: This position does not require testing.

Candidates must pass a criminal background check and other verifications required for the position which may include, but are not limited to, employment and/or education verification, motor vehicle record check, drug test, and/or physical.
