Coordinates the assembly of provider billing packets for both the office and ambulatory surgery centers on a daily basis. Adheres to all established billing and collection policies and procedures. Prepares daily billing packets including the providerA?s daily schedule, demographic data for each encounter, and copy of the patient medical record for the encounter. Reconciles the daily providerA?s schedules to the billing packets to ensure all patient encounters are properly accounted for in a timely manner. Coordinates between the billing department and the physicianA?s office personnel to gain missing data necessary to complete billing packets. Provides feedback to the Charge Entry Manager, and the Physician Office Manager on process improvement suggestions. Scans all necessary information (medical records, demographic data, etc.) into the billing system on a daily/weekly basis. Additional responsibilities related to this task include maintaining scanner function by communicating any issues to the IT Department in a timely manner Other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned by management.Associates degree (A. A. or A.S.) or equivalent from two:year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have::Knowledge of medical practices, terminology and reimbursement policies:Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting functions to maintain records and logs:Skill in exercising initiative, solving problems, and making decisions:Ability to communicate professionally with office staff, providers, and others:Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others:Ability to work independently with minimum supervision COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Word word processing software; MS Excel spreadsheet software; MS Outlook electronic mail software and GE Centricity Group Management billing software. LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATH ABILITY: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Working conditions The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Physical requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
