Submit billing to various 3rd party insurance companies. Post payments in a timely manner. Follow up on denials and submit appeals to insurance companies for payment. Call insurance companies for verifications and authorizations. Work various reports; collections, aging, reconciliation, service pended report, and closed client report. Set consumers up in the billing system with the correct payer information. Submit billing for assigned contracts and post receipts in a timely manner. Responsible for part of the deposit process, client statements and month end reporting. Provide customer service to clients, therapists and outside providers. Back up in the department for other positions.
Experience Requirements:
Knowledge of Insurance and managed care companies, Medicare and Medicaid. Experience with the overall billing process: claims- electronic and paper, authorizations, payment posting, CPT coding, benefit verifications and explanation of benefits adjustments. Good computer and customer service skills are required. Basic knowledge of medical vocabulary. Excel experience is required. Able to contribute and be part of a team. Experience with pharmacy billing.
The experience must be with various 3rd party insurance companies including United, Anthem, Secure Horizons, and Cigna. The experience must include; insurance verifications, obtaining authorizations for services from the insurance company, posting insurance payments, following up on denials, claim preparation and submission, and working an aging report. Customer service is a must.

Budget Coverage Analyst - Center for Clinical Research - Catholic Health Initiatives (Englewood, CO)
Location: CO-Englewood-Denver Inverness
Job Summary:
This individual will be responsible for interpreting the financial requirements and billable nature of items and services on clinical trial protocols by conducting a Coverage Analysis, and negotiating budgets with sponsors. The Research Budget/Coverage Analyst will collaborate with Market Based Organizations (MBOs) to obtain agreement from research sponsors on budgets that are sufficient to cover costs and are compliant with federal guidelines.
Essential Duties:
1. Develops, drafts, and negotiates budgets with sponsors for clinical trials on behalf of CHI investigators, MBOs, and research teams.
2. Responsible for entering event schedules, budgets, billing plans, and other financial information into theClinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
3. Provides functional and technical support to CTMSend users on the budget applications and system's workflow as it pertains to research patient billing.
4. Coordinates the budget process in collaboration with other CIRI staff to ensure timely execution of compliant and effective budgets as a part of the clinical trial agreements with sponsors.
5. Reviews current business processes and continually seeks opportunities for improvement.
6. Participates in the implementation of CIRI programs at the MBOs and take responsibility for the successful implementation of CTMS as it relates to coverage analysis and budgets.
7. Actively participates in user groups to maintain best practices within the CIRI model.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience (required and preferred):
· Minimum of 2 years clinical research and financial management or equivalent required.
· Prior experience negotiating research budgets with sponsors required.
· Prior experience with medical coding including CPTs, DRGs, and APCs is highly preferred, but not required.
· Knowledge of clinical research billing compliance required.
· Prior experience working with industry-sponsored clinical research budgets is required
· Strong knowledge of finance and accounting functions obtained through education and prior work experience that will include internal controls, leading business practices, both internal and external reporting requirements, and a strong understanding of interdependencies with other areas within an organization is strongly preferred.
· Experience with large, multi-level organizations and the ability to work in a diverse environment preferred.
· Understanding of billing compliance and functional knowledge of essential National Coverage Determinations and the CMS Clinical Research Policy is required.
· Ability to conduct searches for National Coverage Determinations (NCD) and Local Coverage Determinations (LCD), etc is required.
· Understanding of Medicare NCDs for coverage of routine costs is required.
· Detailed knowledge of Business Process development is preferred.
· Expertise with Excel and Microsoft Office required.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
· Experience with preparing budget proposal for federal grants is preferred, but not required.
