Summary of Role:
As an IHS Markit Product Design Expert, you will be an expert in the IHS Markit Engineering content and services, with the specific goal of providing pre:sales expertise and business development skills to close new deals. You will be client facing. Your pre:sales expertise will be integral to close new business with focus in two primary areas; (1) content knowledge and packaging to expand and grow our opportunities in the existing new logo/account base and (2) sales support to position and validate IHS Markit Product Design systems to new customers. With expansion opportunities you will work with existing customers to identify additional value opportunities to grow the business and align IHS Markit Product Design content to new areas of potential business and process value. In developing new business, you will be focused heavily on discovery, assessments, and analysis to identify and validate expansion opportunities. In all cases you will be responsible for defining and validating the appropriate packages, as well as supporting the development of a solid business case. During these strategic sales, you will be the expert that demonstrates and validates an integrated IHS engineering solution during an on:site business operations workshop with actual customer requirements and data. In most all cases you will be working with users, executives and C:level people.
General Job Duties:
The Product Design Content SME assists sales in the many aspects of the content selling process. Sales support activities to include:
:Understand the engineering customer base; engineering, R and D, information systems, and analytics needs
:Position the Product Design solution sets to business needs, including Demo's and workshops.
:Partner with the Sales organization to identify potential buyers and develop proposals and business cases that speak to the relevant engineering persona and vertical market
:Provide on:site customer work: requirements gathering, configuration, and demos
:Provide Sales colleagues enablement and on:boarding
:Monitor industry competitors and adjust messaging accordingly
:Leverage content selling methods and value assessment methods to grow opportunities and align solutions to client business value.
:Assist in account renewal support, evaluating statistics, streamlining renewals, assisting in mergers/acquisitions, and downgrades.
Specific Job Duties:
:Evaluate standards requirements and make package recommendations to suit the customer's needs
:Support the RFP/Tender process and create the relevant package options required to the tender documentation
:Support on site sales meetings to deliver content question support, product demos and value prop delivery.
:Provides the members of the sales team with unique insights into the business issues faced by the client.
:Ability to conduct value assessments, develop partnerships, and drive high:value engagements with customers
