*2 shifts will be bedside and 1 shift will be administration

Position Summary
Assists department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, department and/or service line. Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Acts as liaison between physicians and patient care team. Maintains communication and promotes cooperation with unit staff and other departments. Provides supervision to the staff; authorizing work procedures and assigning duties. Collaborates with the director/manager on coaching, mentoring and performance management. Promotes the optimal health, well:being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrates personal accountability for relationship:based care, organizational mission, and core values.
Minimum Education Requirements
:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Bachelors (BSN) degree required or Associates Degree with recognized National Nursing Certification
Minimum Experience Requirements
:Two years of recent nursing experience
:Previous leadership experience, preferred
:Requires knowledge in nursing, evidence:based practice methods, and person:centered care concepts
:Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty unit, preferred
:Current RN license in applicable state of work or current RN license from a participating state in National Licensure Compact for eligible states
:Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association Additional certifications may be required (refer to facility addendum(s))
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
:Assess patients physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records and clinical data. Evaluates patients response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. *
:Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. *
:Demonstrate care coordination competencies. *
:Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic/diagnostic interventions including but not limited to IVs, incision/wound care, medication administration, catheterization and specimen collections. *
:Promote, advocate and collaborate to protect the health, safety and rights of each patient. *
:Provide patient/family education through assessment of patient/family learning readiness, needs, and ability. Provide teaching and evaluate effectiveness of teaching. *
