Position Summary
Responsible for supervising Imaging techs and support staff. Manages the day to day operations of the department
including staff scheduling, coordinating daily work activities, participation the recruitment and selection process, training
and mentoring staff, performance evaluations, implementing quality and process improvement initiatives and compliance
with all regulatory and accreditation standards. Performs staff level imaging functions.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Associates Degree strongly preferred
Bachelors Degree preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
Three years of MRI Tech experience
Previous leadership experience, preferred
Registered Technologist, Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging : R.T. (R)(MR)(ARRT)
Current Basic Life Supportcertification required from American Heart Association
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
Assists in day:to:day operations of the department. *
Assists with selection, assignment and retention of staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion. *
Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work. Performs daily editing and management of associate time keeping system. *
Provides feedback to manager/director regarding employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques. *
Conducts performance evaluations, coaching and disciplinary action. *
Assists in implementing ongoing education, competency plans and orientation process. *
Responsible for compliance with all regulatory agencies, Federal, State, accreditation and hospital standards. *
Assists with implementing process and quality improvement projects. *
Implements actions to achieve department goals related to: budgets, communication plans, staff, teamwork, and other initiatives as identified. *
Serves as liaison between staff and other areas within the facility at large and as an advisor to other disciplines. *
Assists in outcome monitoring and reporting. *
Possesses understanding of department operating budgets. Assists with equipment and supply management. *
Participates in clinical conferences, workshops, seminars and related forums.
Performs magnetic resonance scans to obtain high quality images. Follows standards of safe MRI practice. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonabl
