Schedule: This is a PRN position and does not have a guaranteed number of hours per week. This position is not eligible for benefits
Shift: Every Sunday and some Saturdays
Position Summary
Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. Perform high quality images and exams
on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs. Demonstrates leadership abilities and is a role model for other associate technologists. Acts as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Degree or GED Associates Degree strongly preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum Experience Requirements
One year of ultrasound experience strongly preferred
For entities with shortages of qualified personnel, must be obtained within one year of hire; otherwise is required
ARDMS : registered required RDMS(OB/GYN) or (AB) or (BR); or ARRT registered R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT) and ARDMS registered RVT(VT) or ARRT registered : R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT)
ARDMS registered RDCS(AE) or (PE) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCS), Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
Physical Requirements
Medium Work : (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )
Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retro peritoneal, small parts and vascular. May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity. Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).*
Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner. *
Prepares patient for exam. Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs. *
Assists the patient during exam and positions the patient. *
Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports / documents unusual occurrences and records patient's condition.*
Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling and optimal use of equipment/resources. *
Communicates in writing and verbal
