With exposure to all corporate departments, there also is the opportunity to work alongside technical experts in our Technical Services and Project Development departments.
Strategic Development evaluates merger and acquisition opportunities, assists with contract and property management, and manages Newmonts portfolio of marketable securities. Our team coordinates with the regions and the discovery and development teams to evaluate prospective opportunities. We leverage our corporate and global resources and apply market analytics to guide us in assessing each opportunity. This process ensures Newmont invests in the best projects to provide the greatest return on investment so our business remains sustainable, profitable and responsible well into the future.
Essential Duties 13;
Strategic Development Internship may include the following duties:
:Research developing and producing gold mines for potential acquisition
:Support ongoing transactional work including summarizing of contracts
:Improve existing financial models and data analytics tools
:Utilize our current trading platform to perform equity and commodity research
:Develop presentations for internal and external audiences
:Participate in ad hoc strategy sessions with group executives

Training and Experience 13;
:Strong Microsoft Office skills
:Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree program with GPA of 3.3 or higher : graduating in December 2017 or later
:Graduate students preferred; however, strong undergraduate students may be considered : graduating in December 2017 or later
:Business related degrees preferred, though other disciplines will be considered
:Financial modeling experience a plus
:Basic understanding of financial accounting
:Comfortable working in a fast:paced, team environment
