Hunt ID:5004-CO-S-C-895-501-ElkMDeerAntelopeMooseSheepGoat-P7S-C8OC-OB9B-Camp on Ranch

Additionally, don't forget our $ 200 to book a hunt for next year program. If you want to take a hunt but the outfitter is booked up this year or you can't slide a hunt that is a good buy into the years fall schedule you can lock the discounted price in with the $ 200 security deposit so you discounted price is guaranteed for the next year hunting season. The balance of the 50% deposit is not due until January 1st of the year you will be hunting. Of course the $ 200 is put toward your 50% deposit amount, not lost and not a service fee of any kind.

There is basically a guided meal and lodging for huge trophy Deer, elk and antelope.

There is also a $ 895 Semi-guided hunt with lodging on National forest around the back side of the ranch where no one can get to. The same area that the big bucks and bulls travel through to get to the ranch.

This hunt is so good either guided to DIY it is always booked a year in advance. A $200 security deposit will get you in for the following year which can be rolled over until you do draw a deer, elk or antelope.
This is a 3-day guided Bull Elk or Buck deer hunt in GMU050, GMU500 or GMU501 which qualifies as a trophy unit area. We have hunts for the Guided hunter and we have hunts for the DIY hunter. The guided has meals and lodging while the DIY just has lodging. The area is of course 100% draw or voucher.
Guided Hunts on the Ranch
Let’s start with the guided hunt for Bull Elk or Mule Deer, the guided hunters have first call on the vouchers since the number varies from year to year. You will be hunting the private property and the edges.
To make this hunt more affordable to the working man there has been some major pricing changes, they are lower, more affordable and they still take elk over 300 and deer over 180, but it has gotten to be if you want to hunt you must book a year in advance.
The 3 guided hunts with meals and lodging has dropped from $ 6500 down to only $3495 which is a steal.
There are some big animals and they getting some every year. You select what you shoot and the guide will tell you what you are shooting as for score. If you shoot a Deer over 180 or a bull over 300 there is a $ 1000 trophy fee. Now I know many don’t like trophy fees but even if you would pay $4495 with the trophy fee it is a good buy for that class of animal. If you don’t think you like trophy fees pass on anything over 180 or 300 and it will be a low priced guided hunt with meals and lodging for only $3495. Many hunters fill on the first day, but if you feel you need more than 3 days, you can pay $750 per day for 2 extra day which is very fair.
It must be a pretty good deal because they have an 80% return rate and are booked 1 year in advance. So I guess I would say don’t worry I am certain that someone will buy it they do every year.
Check the points required and see if you will draw. Then book the hunt so you will have a place to hunt. If you do not draw then your deposit is 100% refundable or it is possible that the ranch will have a landowner voucher that they draw that sell for $ 1500 and can be used to make up for not drawing or you can wait another year to see if you draw again.
Are there any big deer or elk in the area? Yes every year they take a number of bulls over 300 inches and bucks over 180, there sure are. Every year they take a number of them. They only guide 4-5 hunters per season so the pressure is minimal for such a large area.

DIY Hunting on the Ranch
It is all about points; many groups will have some drawing deer licenses while other drawing elk licenses bull or cows so they can come every year or every other year.
This is like a public land DIY hunt in a trophy area right next to a trophy private ranch, and lodging is included for only $ 995 with a 2 hunter minimum. If you stayed at a motel, and there were any you would easily spend that amount. DIY hunts in all rifle, muzzle loader and archery seasons. These five day hunts, include cabin, bath house, horse corral, game pole, meat shed, and private access to BLM & state wildlife areas. This is a full season hunt as 5 day or 9 day 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. Muzzleloader 8 day and archery is 7 day hunts.
This is much like a public Land hunt with lodging, and adjacent to quality private land. Drop camps and elk pack out can be obtained at a fee. If you need a day of guide service we offer it for $400 per day 2 person minimum.
You will be hunting the area around the ranch which includes a SWA, BLM land and National Forest. There is no access to the public land against the back side of the ranch due to natural boundaries that prevent anything except for a mountain goat to come in that way from the other side of the mountain. The deer and elk know that and stay in this protected area that only you staying in the bunk houses on the ranch have access to. The elk in these areas come out on the ranch then at daylight go back into cover. The people around you push elk toward you and the ranch. They are all the same deer and elk, that the guided ranch people hunt they just move around the ranch and jump the 3 strand Barbed wire fence that surrounds the ranch to keep the summer cattle on the pasture.
Check the points required and see if you will draw. Then book the hunt so you will have a place to hunt. If you do not draw then your deposit is 100% refundable or can be used on another hunt or rolled over to the next year as. If there are vouchers left over after the guided hunter are covered they are available to the DIY hunters on the ranch, also called drop camp hunters but you don’t pack in. There is no trophy fee for the DIY hunters even though they do take some bucks over 180 or elk over 300.
South Park is well known for its abundance of deer and elk but also has a few herds of Antelope in this diverse country ranging from table for grazing ground for antelope to the tops of the high peaks lettered with mountain goats. As you drop down in altitude you will drop into the rocky mountain bighorn sheep. Now between the sheer steep slopes and the antelope are some of the biggest bull elk and wide racked deer you will ever find. Our records show we consistently harvest 160-190 inch mountain Muley’s although they have broken the 200 inch barrier a couple of times. The same is true with the elk, the genes are good and the habitat allows them to see their 8th birthday and show off the great gene pool in this area. History has taken 310, 230, 240 and even a 380 on the ranch. I am asked do we ever shoot elk under 300? We let the hunter make the decision on when he shoots and at what but we do many times whisper softly in his ear when he has his rifle on a log for a rest and quietly clicks off his rifles safety, “ He is a good one but I think we can do better.”
Some time he pushes the safety back on and sometimes he just pulls the trigger because it is the biggest he has ever seen. This ranch even has Boone & Crocket antelope but it does take 11 years/points to draw a license. Vouchers are like hens teeth so unless you have one lined up don’t plan on one becoming available anytime soon unless you have been hit by lightning… twice.
Moose are in our yard every year but our lack of a hunter with a license has been long enough that the calves that we saw born are now defined as Moose Senior Citizens. Some days it looks like we are running a senior citizen center for Moose.
The limited amount of licenses is part and combination with private land provides the very best
We are locates only an hour from Denver which makes it an easy drive from city to Trophy class animals in an area known as South Park.
Over the last 25+ years hunting these units our clients have harvested the best trophies in the first and fourth rifle seasons. We've decided to only offer full service guided hunts to a select few hunters in these two seasons. We have consistently harvested 180"+ mule deer bucks and 300”+ bull elk in these seasons.

Full Service Hunts
1st Rifle - Units 500 Or 501, Elk Only (Late Rut)
4th Rifle - Unit 501, Elk & Mule Deer (Rut) Only 2 slots left (Land Owner Vouchers Available)
Our Mountain Lodge & cabin accommodations include guide service and home cooked meals. As you see above our full service elk hunts available in first & fourth rifle seasons only.
For hunters with preference points (1-3) have the best chance of drawing licenses which is relatively low for the quality of the animals you will take.
This hunt has been almost 100% success in the past year and through good management we see this continuing for years to come.

Check the stats for drawing the animal you wish to hunt. Antelope is down on private land only.
