Job Description

Required Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience
Required Education: Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Travel Required: Estimated up to 20
Qualifications:
Certified Professional Engineer
Requires U.S. Citizenship and may require a security clearance.
Veterans Affairs, Dept. of Defense, and /or other Federal experience desired.
LEED and /or US Green Building Council Certification is desirable
Be self:motivated, able to perform and solve problems independently, and take the initiative to make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in computer design software programs including: AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, Construction Estimating systems, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, et.) MS Project and Visio, Adobe Acrobat, and other various design and project scheduling software.
Major Duties:
Prepare and assist with engineering designs, studies and reports
Prepare building electrical plans and schematics on AutoCAD / Revit.
Prepare technical calculations, specifications, material estimates, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
Prepares construction plans and prepares layouts for development of drawings by technicians and reviews completed work for technical adequacy and completeness.
Prepares technical specifications, material estimates, correspondence, technical reports, and portions of design memoranda.
Makes site visits to identify and eliminate conflicts with conservation criteria.
Provide solutions to electrical construction issues.
Coordinates reviews and recommends approval action of shop drawings, submittals, and O and M manuals submitted on construction projects.
Coordinate in multi:disciplinary design team meetings.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of departmental design standards, applicable engineering codes, and Valhalla guidelines, providing suggestions and recommendations as needed.
Other design / engineering tasks as assigned.
