Littleton Company seeks a full:time Embedded Software Engineer to provide full life cycle (requirements, design, develop, and test) embedded software engineering for space and test systems. Candidate will support Companys modular architecture approach, must be proficient in C/C++, and possess a clear understanding of real:time embedded software principles and object oriented analysis, design, and development. Must be comfortable with basic handling and testing of

Embedded Software Engineer responsibilities include:
:Maintain and improve Companys modular software library and products
:Embedded real:time software development
:Microcontroller board initialization and programming
:Develop space systems modeling and simulation software
:Develop modular software for Robot Operating System (ROS)
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Experience programming with C/C++ in an embedded real:time environment
Understanding of and experience using VxWorks and VxWorks Workbench (or similar RTOS)
Experience across the software development lifecycle with an emphasis on rigorous development practices for flight hardware
Experience with formal software development practices including software version control, coding standards and naming conventions
Object Oriented Analysis and Design techniques
Strong mathematics foundation
:Strong analytical and problem solving skills
:Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload and meet time:sensitive deadlines required. Must be able to work under pressure and time constraints. Must be results:oriented with the ability to change priorities as needed
:Experience with various communications bus protocols (e.g. MIL:STD:1553, RS:422, CANBUS, SpaceWire, etc)
:Familiarity with Linux:based open source development programs (and command line kung fu encouraged)
:Knowledge of aerospace engineering principles
:Knowledge of electronics, circuits, board layout a plus
Education and experience required:
:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
:5 to 8 years of relevant experience required
