Radiology Technician PRN- HealthOne CareNow Urgent Care

Position Hours as needed.

Training and Education

· Lab or x-ray personnel registered with ARRT, LMRT

· Attends CareNow orientation according to Procedure Manual

· Maintains current certification and/or registration

· Maintains current CPR/AED certification

· Maintains current Federal Breath Alcohol Certification

· Maintains current Federal Drug Screen Certification

· Attends staff meetings and in-services

· Maintains CME hours

· Reads all newsletters, memos and reminders to stay up to date with all changes

Perform Lab/X-ray Procedures

· Capable of performing all x-ray views allowed by certification level

· Performs drug screens, urinalysis, and other in-house lab tests accurately

· Processes specimens for reference laboratories

· Uses all resources to care for the patient

· Responsible for carrying out orders and assignments in a capable and confident manner

Equipment and Maintenance

· Maintains, calibrates and performs controls on lab/x-ray equipment daily

· Inspects and reports artifacts from the x-ray screen

· Operates equipment according to policy and manufacturer guidelines

· Completes biannual X-ray inspections

Record Keeping and Ordering

· Files and places lab work with patient charts

· Records all drug screens in drug screen log book

· Orders and maintains supplies weekly

· Records all in-house and send out lab work in daily log book

· Records all x-rays in X-Ray Log Book

· Ensures no expired supplies are present in the lab

· Ensure that all returned laboratory and radiology reports are reviewed and signed off by the provider. Follow-up on missing reports.

· Accountable to check logs daily for completeness and accuracy

Scheduling

· Responsible to work scheduled shifts as assigned

· Reports to work promptly – 5 minutes before start of shift

· Understands and agrees to the mandatory weekend on-call rotation for Lab (once implemented)

· Willing to work days, nights, and weekends

· Willing to help surrounding clinics in need

Customer Service

· Is courteous and polite when responding to internal and external customers in a timely manner

· Use of proper etiquette when speaking with patients. Introduces self and states your purpose

· Promotes a caring, friendly atmosphere focusing on patient

· Informs patients of progress in clinic when appropriate and uses hand off script

· Properly explains the procedure/test and the amount of time the test may take

· Goes the extra mile to be able to provide quality and convenience

· Ensure patients wait time in the clinic is 60 minutes or less

· Ensure patient who used Web Check-In do not wait in the lobby more than 12 minutes

· Greets all patients courteously and with a smile in a timely manner

Dress code

· Adheres to the dress code. See Policy and Procedure Manual

· Treats guests, patients, physicians and other employees with compassion and respect

· Presents a positive image of CareNow

· Responds quickly and appropriately to all requests

· Focuses on the future, does not dwell on past difficulties

· Maintains strict confidentiality and preserves the dignity of others

· Continuously looks for and suggests ways to improve

· Cross trains to check patients in and out of the computer

Communication (Oral and Written)

· Promptly and appropriately talks about problems with employees involved, in a

courteous and respectful manner

· Seeks opportunities to compliment/recognize other employees

· Listens carefully

· Asks for, provides, and welcomes feedback from others with an optimistic

attitude
