Niza Knoll Gallery presents "FIRED", an exhibit of hand built ceramics.
September 28-November 10, 2012

Niza Knoll gallery at 915 Santa Fe Drive presents a new exhibit featuring hand built ceramic works entitled “FIRED”. The show, on display from September 28-November 10, 2012, presents pieces by 13 local artists who love to play with clay. They move it, mix it, mold it, and fire it into precise stone-like creations that captivate the senses. The public is welcome to view and purchase work from Wednesday through Saturday from 1-5 (please note that Saturday hours have changed from noon-4 to 1-5 pm) and during the following special events:

Opening and Artists’ reception: September 28, 5-8 pm
First Friday: October 5 & November 2, 5-8 pm
Third Friday: October 19, 3-8 pm

The creative energy of each artist manifests itself in works, large and small, in forms that range from birds and animals to abstracts and figurative forms. The hands that form these sculptures include Ned Sterne, Janey Skeer, Paula Romero Schmitt, Georgianne Rollman, Ellen Reynolds, Kristy Melodia, Pat Lickly, Leona Lazar, Mike Keene, Karen Gregory, Trish Gans, Lora Freeman and Penney Bidwell.

Gallery owner and multi-disciplinary artist Niza Knoll received her formal training in painting and graphic design at the School of Visual Arts in New York. Before becoming a full-time visual artist she had two rewarding careers as a graphic designer and a teacher of painting and photography. Niza Knoll Gallery opened in April 2010 and welcomes artists to show their portfolio. The gallery hours are Wednesday-Saturday1-5 pm, First and Third Friday 3-8 pm. The Mix Co-op in the back of the gallery is also open for visitors during regular hours.
