IMPROVISATIONAL ACOUSTIC MUSICIANS
I am seeking improvisational acoustic musicians and gypsy dancers for a spontaneous, laid-back, unplugged, jamming troupe to perform around campfires, other outdoor sites and art venues. The intent is not for fame and money but for friends, fun and good times. I can orchestrate with ethnic drums using rhythms from the Balkan, Turkey, Mid-eastern, North African, and Flamenco traditions. Instruments that would be especially appreciated could include violin, oud, flute, clarinet, zills, guitar, kanoon, voice and whatever. Great skills are not required only the intention to play and have a good time with stories, costumes, music and dance. • Location: Denver

That's a pretty catchy title, eh? You just got more than you bargained for. I'm going to repost this ad bi-weekly until someone believes me. Please, ask me questions.
This is the second music ad I've ever placed. I am a 30 year old male guitarist/singer in westminster, co. I also play drums, keyboard, and bass. I am an excellent singer and a decent guitar player. I have good stage presence and perfect pitch. Check out some songs, I performed all the instruments, but this is very old stuff: myspace.com/pranksteratom. I like alternative timing schemes and phrasing. I'm somewhere between athiest and born again christian right now. If this email offends you in any way, I apologize in advance. In 1994 i briefly met and held the hand of Mi'Clam from the band Vast Expanse Band Oedipus. I saw my life flash before my eyes. In 1998 i briefly met K from the band Apparatus. I told him that right around the turn of the real millenium(2001, not 2000. the count would have started at 1, not zero.) planes would fly into buildings causing great chaos. I also said that a black president would be elected who is of half muslim descent, and that nuclear attacks would take place sometime close to december 2012. The song from the album is based on lyrics I sang him when he said he wanted to write down what I had said. "I haven't brought my sword, fucked myself again"(long story actually). if i seem aloof i'm sorry but i'm numb to it now. In 2005 I wandered back to my old practice space to see what was up. I heard beautiful music coming from one of the practice spaces I had occupied previously. When I knocked they let me in, it was the band A Fracas. I had a fairly long conversation with them regarding record deals, hit singles, and the events mentioned previously. I think they believed me, and they said they would help me out when it came time to publish my book(I knew they were going to be successful and thus have money, but I'm still not finished, I'm a little busy with my kid and one on the way). I want to record some music with a real purpose, but it's been a while...and you'd have to believe me...these stories go on and on, but I need to stop now i think. I don't talk about this stuff with anyone but my wife until recently, like right now...thanks for listening. my email is pranksteratom@anincompleteboo.com, I don't care if I seem insane anymore, I've got too many deaths on my concience. if you really want to get scared ask me what happens...Also, i'm a computer programmer and i'm fucking loaded...by loaded I intended a double meaning, but clearly I meant drunk. www.anincompleteboo.com. • Location: Denver, Boulder

Tony Adamo Keep the Funk Rollin'posted: October 16, 2009, 08:09 PM

TONY ADAMO IS ROLLIN’ WITH A LEAN MEAN FUNK MACHINE
Franki LaMantia, New York City, New York www.strokeland.com Tony Adamo kicks it into high gear with help from the rollin’ lean mean funk machine: Eddie Henderson (trumpet), Mike Clark (drums), and Richie Goods (bass). Adamo’s long time guitarist/producer, Jerry Stucker, brought this mighty trio of great players together at Dubway Recording Studios, New York City. There the three recorded on two songs for Adamo’s new 2010 release. One of the songs is a second cover of a Tower of Power hit song. The other song is a cover of a 70’s pop hit that also grooves with the bad to the bone vibes of the legendary guitarist, Blackbyrd McKnight. Mcknight recently recorded on two cuts for Adamo’s new CD. “This Time it’s Real,” is Adamo’s first cover of a TOP hit song. It can be downloaded at www.strokeland.com. Strokeland Records is owned by Stephen ‘Doc’ Kupka, a founding member of Tower of Power. DIG THE PLAYERS: Eddie Henderson (trumpet) is now on staff at Juilliard School of Music. His bio-gigs include: Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, John Handy, Joe Henderson and Charles Earland. Mike Clark’s (drums) Blueprints of Jazz Volume 1 is listed as one of the best new CDs of 2008, Downbeat Magazine. Clarke’s bio-gigs include: Herbie Hancock and the Head Hunters, Wayne Shorter, Al Jarreau, Joe Henderson and Larry Goldings. Richie Goods (bass) is an alumni of Berkley School of Music. Good’s bio-gigs include: Head Hunters, Christine Aguilera, Michael Wolff, Whitney Houston and his band, Nuclear Fusion. Blackbyrd McKnight’s bio-gigs include: Herbie Hancock, the Head Hunters, Funkadelics, Sonny Rollins, George Clinton and the Pfunk All Stars, Bootsy Collins and Charles Lloyd. www.strokeland.com www.myspace.com/tonyrocadamo • Location: Denver
