Reviews / Testimonials

You guys were fantastic and our feedback was all totally over the top.  We'd love to do it again. You all did an incredibly, awesome job and we couldn't be happier!  I've never worked with such low maintenance entertainment.  You came  in, set it up and went to work.  Can't tell you how much we  appreciated it what with all the other little glitches we needed to  tweak. You were first class from start to finish. Plan on working (the Draft Magazine VIP lounge at the Great American Beerfest) again next year…Again, thanks for everything.  You were one of the highlights of the trip.

-- Kat Hughes – Creative Management and Marketing; Oshkosh WI

I just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with your quartet.  You were beyond what we had hoped for!  We received many compliments from the guests at our party regarding your performance and have also given your contact information to people who have inquired.  I would HIGHLY recommend your service and will surely call you again.  Thanks so much for helping to make our Holiday Party a great success.
-- Jacque Forrest, Pikes Peak Behavioral Health Group, Colorado Springs, CO

I want to let you know that you guys are amazing! David and I decided your cd and music samples aren''t an accurate reflection of your performance. They''re good, but your live performance far exceeded our hopes and expectations for the evening. Thank you so much! Take care, and please feel free to contact us if you need a referral. We''ll be more than happy to recommend you to any prospective clients. Please let the guys know they did an awesome job. Thanks again!
--Jennifer Pauley Denver, CO

(Peneplain's) music was the highlight of the evening and made the reception everything we hoped it would be. I wish I could do it all over again just so we could hire you to play !!!!

Acoustic and Electric Bass Lessons

posted: November 2, 2009, 11:45 AM

Replyrobin@robinruscio.com

Please visit my website: www.robinruscio.com

Robin Ruscio is one of Colorado’s premier bassists. An equally skilled musician on both acoustic and electric bass (including the fretless and six string bass), Robin’s playing has made him one of the most in demand musicians in the region. He has performed with world-class jazz artists such as Ron Miles, Nelson Rangell, and The U.S. Air Force Falconaires, as well as with popular Colorado acts Lannie Garrett, The Pan Jumbies, Senor Gato, The Darren Kramer Organization, and The Yo Flaco Jazz Project. He has backed numerous national jazz artists at the Jazz Aspen/Snowmass Festival, and has appeared at Red Rocks Ampitheatre, The Colorado Music Festival, and with the popular musical productions "Wicked" and "Spamalot". Robin can also be found leading his own group performing his original jazz compositions with top-notch Denver mainstays such as Jeff Jenkins, Peter Sommer, and Dave Devine.

In addition to his jazz appearances with virtually every significant jazz musician in Colorado, Robin has had numerous sideman experiences that reflect his diverse musical interests. He has a long running relationship with the eclectic band The Mercury Project (with whom he appeared at the Lodo Music Festival), and several of their side projects. He has performed for a dozen professional musical theater productions, including the world premiere of the musical “Brooklyn” under John McDaniel. Other acts include The Tango Camerata, Daddyblue, Jeff Jenkins’ psychedelic fusion trio Cique, David Arthur and the Roundtable, and the reggae group Djaté.

Robin Ruscio is one of the most established private teachers in the Denver metro area, maintaining a studio of around 40 aspiring bassists. He has been a guest artist or clinician at The University of Colorado, Metro State College, and several area elementary, middle, and high schools. His diverse musical background makes him an ideal teacher for any individual wishing to improve his or her bass playing and overall musicianship. Robin teaches out of his studio in his centrally located Denver home.

Current students range from young beginners to advanced high school students at the Denver School of the Arts to engineers, doctors, and other professionals.

Lessons focus on skills including technique, tone, understanding theory and harmony, transcriptions, listening, musicality, repertoire, scales, and chords; no tricks or shortcuts, just solid fundamentals applicable to any style of music.

Upright players gain additional insight by developing a complete physical approach to the bass, the bow, and intonation.

Students have access to hundreds of essential recordings, as well as a comprehensive library of jazz and bass texts, sheet music, videos, exercises, and articles on every subject imaginable.

Technologically interactive lessons often utilize music software and audio recording to enhance learning.

Robin also plays guitars and keyboards to provide accompaniment in realistic manner, and explain the bass’s harmonic relationship with chords.

Saxophone Lessons-All Ages-Reasonable Rates

Get off on the right musical foot! I have spaces available to accept new beginning, intermediate and advanced students for soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone lessons. Parents, get your band-playing children the extra edge they need in music by providing them private lessons. Music is a gift that keeps on giving, so give that special person a gift of lessons for the New Year!

Click here to visit my site

Adults, if you have had the desire to learn the saxophone, I teach a number of adult students and can tailor the lesson to suit your needs and aspirations. I can also find competitively priced saxophones that you can buy if you don't have one.

I teach all styles, from coaching traditional band/wind ensemble literature to traditional, bebop and other jazz (as well as improvisation), and even classical saxophone literature.

Reasonable rates and flexible lesson times. I also have spaces available on Saturdays.

Here are some quotes from some parents and students:

Our daughter has been studying saxophone with Jason for over a year now and her progress has been truly astonishing. Jason's rare combination of rigor with an easy-going sense of humor have helped her master a wide range of music types and expression. His enthusiasm for the world of music and enormous generosity of spirit are an inspiration.

Quote from Logan: “When I play my horn with Jason and the Cats (on the CD), it makes me feel good that I can really make music!” Logan 11 yrs old

Quote from his old man:

“I listen to my son play the tenor sax daily. The progress he has made in seven months is truly amazing. I’m looking forward to continuing his lessons and listening to him grow musically. Jason seems the perfect match for my son. He blends music theory with scales and still has time to improvise. What could be better?” Rich
