Event Co-Ordinators and Promoters Needed

TBR Studios Presents:

The Battle for America
A National Battle of the Bands Event

We are now seeking EVENT Co-Ordinators & Promoters

If you have ever wanted to promote musical events such as concerts or local music shows, this is your chance to learn the ropes and get paid to do it. No experience needed, just enthusiasm and a desire to succeed.

We have now completed two annual events in Texas (The Battle for Texas - Houston Regionals). SEE BLOG on www.myspace.com/battleforamerica home page. We are about to roll out into other major Texas cities as well as expand nationwide for the 2010 event. We need co-ordinators to accomplish this. I will personally carry out Texas cities unless I find Co-Ordinators in the other cities such as Dallas, Ft. Worth, San Antonio, etc. I think you get the idea!

We need Co-Ordinators in every state to run the 1 Day events in their major home city and you have the option to take your local city event to every major city in your state. This is similar to a street team concept for a band, except you get paid for your efforts and are part of a national event. There are no fees for you to sign up as a co-ordinator and join the project.

I have all the tools (Registration & Waiver Forms, graphics, etc.) & experience you need to make your event work in your city. Both of our events in Houston were started and successfully completed in 30-45 days from the date of event conception. All you need is the will to take on the event and make some cash in the process. ie: If you find a venue for the event in your city by January 1st, your event should be completed by Jan 31st or mid Feb. at the latest. Then you can do it again later in the year or move to another city.

This is perfect for Recording Studio owners, Graphic Artists that work with bands, Music Store owners, full/part time musicians, entrepreneurs and even Club owners. It's a great way to network your business, studio or band and be part of a national event at the same time.

Your function as an Event Co-Ordinator for The Battle for America:

1) Secure Venue and Date of the event
2) Secure local sponsors (Recording Studios, Music Stores, Graphic Artists, etc)
3) Secure Bands to Compete (I'll show you how)
4) Promote the event locally along with competing bands
5) Secure 3 Event Judges (usually from the sponsors)
6) Host Event (emcee) and hand out local awards at completion of the days events.

If you live in Atlanta, for example, your event will be called:
The Battle for Georgia - Atlanta Regionals

Your event will have a MySpace page tied to this Battle for America page. If you own a recording studio, for example, you will have a banner such as mine: "TBR Studios Presents"

I think you get the idea. For more info on how to become an event co-ordinator, contact me by my studio phone, home phone or email below (or this page) anytime days or eves. Ask for "Luckee".

See you in the Battlefield!!!

Thanks,

Luckee

SSS Productions is a Sound, Lighting, Stage, and Backline company with an excellent history of satisfied clients. Nearly all our clients do repeat business with us because of our unique adaptability, superb sound and lighting engineers, and our constant attention to detail. We work equally well in large concert halls, conference rooms, outdoors, or private party settings.

We are a very unique company, and because of our low overhead we are typically well below normal market price for a given service. Contact us about your upcoming event, weather it’s 30 or 3000 people we will show you how smoothly things can go.

Lighting: Specializing in computer-controlled intelligent “moving head” and LED fixtures, for effect and ambiance. Custom gobos available for leikos and intelligent fixtures. (the beam of light is your name or logo) Our cutting edge lighting systems can be tailored to fit any situation from large format concerts to weddings to outdoor installs and everything in between. Not only are L.E.D. lights much more versatile and vibrant than conventional lighting, but they draw roughly 3% of the electricity that their incandescent counterparts do, meaning a very large lighting production can be done on one or two 20Amp electrical circuits, reducing the need for large expensive generators.

Sound: We provide sound systems of all types and sizes for any occasion. We believe in “Quality over quantity”. Though we can easily blast audiences of 2000+, our focus is providing clear balanced and intelligible music and sound reinforcement for our clients, and audiences of all sizes. Our excellent engineers come primarily from a recording background. Because of their finely tuned ears, they aren’t happy unless you get studio quality sound, live. Our engineers have mixed some of the largest names in the industry.

Staging: We can do it all right down to mobile staging, tent, and generator rental. We have several staging solutions from 4 foot by 8 foot modular staging panels, to a large covered mobile stage (40ft wide by16ft deep); Perfect for large outdoor concerts, company picnics or charity fundraisers.

Recording: Mobile 48 track digital live recording available for live CD, conference, or live radio/internet broadcasting situations. Up to eighteen discrete channels of audio capture to industry standard computer based recording programs such as, Nuendo4, Cubase4, and Protools. Our experienced and accredited recording engineers allow us to offer mixing and mastering in house.

Feedback

Kevin is a great teacher, he really knows what he's doing.
He plays amazingly and knows what to do to get you there too.
He's very easy to get along with and learn from. A+

— James A. on December 05, 2008

My daughter is fairly quick on picking up technique.
However, she's bashful and lacks self-confidence.
Kevin patiently works with her and encourages her
to get better without being forceful. She doesn't
seem to want to continue with lessons but becomes
defensive if I suggest she stop. "Kevin is a really
good teacher! I'm looking forward to our next lesson."

— Nicole A. on November 04, 2008

Kevin is an incredibly patient instructor. He is making

Drummer Wanted

Defeat the Lie is currently seeking a drummer.

Defeat the Lie is an established local metal act of the Denver area comprised of veteran musicians. The band has been in existence for roughly 1 year, during which time it has played regular gigs in local venues (including the Fox Theatre in Boulder and the Gothic Theatre in Denver), has financed and recorded a 3-track EP ("The Life Forsaken EP"), all to overwhelmingly positive responses from audiences and listeners, as well as critical acclaim from local publications, such as the Westword and the Colorado Music Buzz. The band's goals for the immediate future are the completion of an as-yet untitled, full-length studio recording, and extensive touring gigs outside of the Denver metro area.

Candidates for the position of drummer must have:

-A solid technical understanding of his/her instrument
-A strong work ethic and an ability to self-motivate
-Creativity when it comes to writing and performance
-An ability to commit to 3-4 nights per week of practice/rehearsal/writing
-An ability to commit to play regular weekend (and occasional weekday) gigs
-A tenacity and desire to make a career of music

Candidates who are interested and meet the above criteria:

-Go to www.myspace.com/defeatthelie.
-Listen to/familiarize yourself with at least 2 of the 3 tracks available online.
-If you prefer, CD's are available upon request for your listening/familiarization purposes.
-Contact Defeat the Lie via the band's MySpace page or send an e-mail to jzampert@yahoo.com, listing your name, contact info, and your expressed interest to audition for the position of drummer in Defeat the Lie. We will contact you shortly with a time/location for your audition.

Acoustic and Electric Bass Lessons

Please visit my website: www.robinruscio.com

Robin Ruscio is one of Colorado’s premier bassists. An equally skilled musician on both acoustic and electric bass (including the fretless and six string bass), Robin’s playing has made him one of the most in demand musicians in the region. He has performed with world-class jazz artists such as Ron Miles, Nelson Rangell, and The U.S. Air Force Falconaires, as well as with popular Colorado acts Lannie Garrett, The Pan Jumbies, Senor Gato, The Darren Kramer Organization, and The Yo Flaco Jazz Project. He has backed numerous national jazz artists at the Jazz Aspen/Snowmass Festival, and has appeared at Red Rocks Ampitheatre, The Colorado Music Festival, and with the popular musical productions "Wicked" and "Spamalot". Robin can also be found leading his own group performing his original jazz compositions with top-notch Denver mainstays such as Jeff Jenkins, Peter Sommer, and Dave Devine.

In addition to his jazz appearances with virtually every significant jazz musician in Colorado, Robin has had numerous sideman experiences that reflect his diverse musical interests. He has a long running relationship with the eclectic band The Mercury Project (with whom he appeared at the Lodo Music Festival), and several of their side projects. He has performed for a dozen professional musical theater productions, including the world premiere of the musical “Brooklyn” under John McDaniel. Other acts include The Tango Camerata, Daddyblue, Jeff Jenkins’ psychedelic fusion trio Cique, David Arthur and the Roundtable, and the reggae group Djaté.

Robin Ruscio is one of the most established private teachers in the Denver metro area, maintaining a studio of around 40 aspiring bassists. He has been a guest artist or clinician at The University of Colorado, Metro State College, and several area elementary, middle, and high schools. His diverse musical background makes him an ideal teacher for any individual wishing to improve his or her bass playing and overall musicianship. Robin teaches out of his studio in his centrally located Denver home.

Current students range from young beginners to advanced high school students at the Denver School of the Arts to engineers, doctors, and other professionals.

Lessons focus on skills including technique, tone, understanding theory and harmony, transcriptions, listening, musicality, repertoire, scales, and chords; no tricks or shortcuts, just solid fundamentals applicable to any style of music.

Upright players gain additional insight by developing a complete physical approach to the bass, the bow, and intonation.

Students have access to hundreds of essential recordings, as well as a comprehensive library of jazz and bass texts, sheet music, videos, exercises, and articles on every subject imaginable.

Technologically interactive lessons often utilize music software and audio recording to enhance learning.

Robin also plays guitars and keyboards to provide accompaniment in realistic manner, and explain the bass’s harmonic relationship with chords.
